Albert Radcliffe Builders
outing in the 1930's

STAFF outings were something of an occasion in years gone by and a far cry from modern day festive mischief with the fax machine.
The photograph, right, was sent in by Albert White, of Blacklands Drive, who remembers some of his former workmates on a firm outing in the early 1930s.
Mr Blackland said: "The firm concerned was Albert Radcliffe Builders who had headquarters in Trinity Street. I can still put some names to faces."
According to Mr Blacklands some of the people in the photograph are: Tom and Frank Whittaker, Jack Campbell, Bill Gander, Albert Wingfield, Bill Giles, Nelson Huggins, Jimmy Monk, George Read, George Jones, Harry Coates, Wally and Jack Day, Jimmy Adams, Benny Catt, Sam Mepham, Ted Mepham, Bill Tollust, Tiny Bridgeland, Jack Lamb, Harry White, Bert Ide, Vic Hastings, Albert Wheeler, Bob Killick and Harry Paffet.
