Girls Nautical Training Corps
Hastings
Carnival float

A HASTINGS ex-pat's friendship with someone at home has stretched across the Atlantic in a bid to contact former
childhood friends.
Mrs Robertson, of Gresham Way, St Leonards, has acted as messenger for her friend and former Hastings resident Ann Pollock.
Mrs Robertson said: "My friend in Canada asked me to send this photograph to the Observer. Her name is Ann Pollock, nee Deeprose, and she has been in Canada since 1957 when she married a Canadian, but she has been home quite a lot as her sister still lives here."
This picture, taken in 1953, shows Mrs Pollock as part of the Girls Nautical Training Corps who were participating in Hastings Carnival's Crowing of Queen
Elizabeth I.
Mrs Pollock, featured on the left saluting, said: "We met once a week at the Sea Cadets behind where Stamco is now. If anyone recognises themselves and would like to get in touch please email me."
Mrs Pollock can be contacted by emailing binns2@sympatico.ca.
