Old Hastonians Football Club 1934

THE BEAUTIFUL game holds fond memories for many people in Hastings. But there was more than one team in the town.
Rodney Purcell, of St Helen's Crescent, sent in this photograph of his old team-mates at Old Hastonians Football Club taken in April 1934.
Mr Purcell said: "The photograph was taken outside Hastings Grammar School and I remember quite a few names."
According to Mr Purcell the players in the front row are Pat Stace, Rex Hills, Mr Purcell, and John Burton.
The first man on the middle row is unknown, but the second is M. Jerrom, then unknown, then Ted Slevin, Frank Yurkston and Sid Petty.
On the back row is Sid Thorpe, Frank Gillis, Cecil Stevens, Henry Haddon, unknown, Moore, Hutchinson, Flagg, Burge, Glendanish, Addison and Patward. Jerrom and Addison were masters at Hastings Grammar School.
